Developed by Urban Mind Studio, the Cultural Compass enables decision makers to consider the impact of their decisions on culture. 

Inspired by work developed as part of a Cultural Impact Framework in partnership with five South Australian Local Government areas through the Creative Communities Network and Arts South Australia with support from the Local Government Association.

Being. A Design code for life.

Life hurtles challenges our way everyday – little things that make us feel frustrated and sometimes really big things, that leave us feeling unsure of what to do. 

Being. is a simple tool for you to determine ‘how to be’ in any situation. In a few easy steps, Being will help you create a Design Code to tackle anything life throws at you.

We live in disruptive and ambiguous times, where change is possibly the only certainty.

Change is often overwhelming and threatening, which for some causes fear leading to despair and frustration - sometimes expressed inwardly as anxiety or depression or outwardly as either inaction and disengagement or aggression and violence. Never in human history has there been a more important time to know how to navigate uncertainty effectively.

‘Being. A design code for life.’ translates ambiguity into curiosity and uncertainty into wonder. It helps to cultivate a disposition for the best possible human life in this wondrous place.

It is the closest we can possibly get to free will.
